[PERSONAL | RAMBLES] 2016 Goals

Hello everyone, how are you doing? My year has been GREAT so far, despite today’s…disruptions. However, I’m determined enough to continue making this a great year!

Being 18 days into a month and only writing the goals now really isn’t a bad thing. I put it off simply to focus on YourMiniCon. That convention was a lot of work to prepare for, but was ABSOLUTELY worth it!

I personally always love telling everyone what my goal’s are for the year. It’s always so exciting to go back and see if I completed them at the end of the year. That’s mainly why I do them. I guess I also hope those reading this blog will support me and encourage me along the way.

I think I’m going to start this entry off a bit different than the previous ones…by linking to the previous ones!

2012 Goals
2013 Goals (also this one)
2014 Goals
2015 Goals

If you haven’t read those, please do! You will notice some common themes between those and this year. You will be able to tell what I have achieved just by how the goals change…as well as change. If you’re not going to read all of them, at least read 2015’s goal list! It’s for the first half of this year.

All-Year-Long Goals

Believe it or not, I have goals that I aim to do all year long.

…okay, so there ARE goals that you will see that I expect to extend all year long, but not in the same way that these are.

Goal 1: Diet Correction

Diet correction? What am I talking about? Not losing weight, that’s for sure! By “diet,” I mean what I eat. That may help me lose weight in the long run, BUT that is not my main goal.

I have been vegetarian since I was about 7 years old thanks to an eating disorder. I know I would have become vegetarian at some point anyway just with how my life is, but I did that early. My parents were understanding and supportive, but really had no idea about vegetarian diets. I didn’t really even think to research or anything like that at that age!

Thanks to Pinterest and just simply getting sick of what I was eating, I’m correcting my vegetarian diet. I’m making sure what I eat will give me enough nutrients when I eat them. Next time someone asks me “where do you get your protein from,” I want to be able to (figuratively) hit them in the face with a nice long list of delicious foods that I eat for that. I’ll have nutritional yeast part of my daily intake to help supply B12, which is truly the nutrient that is hard for vegetarians and vegans to get (luckily, you only need a small amount per day).

Pinterest has been my main source of inspiration for meals as of the past few years. Looking up vegetarian and vegan meals has been useful in giving me ideas of the wonderful variety of foods I can and could be eating. It’s my aim to start collecting the recipes from there (and where ever else I can) to help me have varied, tasty dishes.

And, believe it or not, vegetarian and vegan dishes CAN be delicious. Those were the kind of dishes I preferred as a child even before becoming vegetarian.

I’m looking forward to my diet correction. Coming along with the correction, I aim to load up my freezer with delicious homemade chilis and soups that help with it.

Homemade is super important to me.

Also, I should probably note to some people, I plan on including like…simple, quick healthy meals too. I’m sure some people would automatically think carb-loaded or something like that, but nope! I’m thinking lentil “meat” fillings in a lettuce wrap and stuff.

Goal 2: Money Correction

I want my dang savings back! I want more money in my account! I want to feel confident that when my bills come out, I can still pay for gas in my car!

Can you blame me?

That’s why I’m aiming for money correction.

I’m sure some people would want to tell me to get a second/third job, but that’s really pointless to get if I don’t really have a great handle on money in the first place. I could easily get $2,000 and end up with nothing at the end because right now, I suck at managing money, as well as curving my spending habits.

That’s why this book is a priority to read. I will apply the lessons. I can do this. I am perfectly capable!

I just really want to rebuild my savings and have more money in general…

Money correction also involves tracking money, particularly for my business so I can see its ups and downs among everything else.

Speaking of which…

Goal 3: Business

My business will be a focus throughout this entire year. I’ll admit — the beginning of this year will have a light focus, but I’m aiming for the second half to be a much larger one. My current aim is to sell at a convention every month (which may seem like a stupidly tall order, but one convention a month is fairly small) and to increase customer count so I can obtain more money and begin to achieve my ultimate goals: spreading my stories and characters to inspire people! They inspire me and I hope they will inspire others as well!

There WILL be smaller goals related to this one, but business is SUCH an important goal for me. I want more money to come through while I can be my own boss. I really don’t want to go to another day job that leaves me feeling empty because I helped people in the wrong kind of way for me.

If you would like to help my business, spread the word! Help me out! Link to this blog! Link to my website! Link to my commissions! Link to anything that can help me! LINK IT! Share it! Help me out!

Goals from January to June

So, while I was thinking about my goals for this year, I realized that I should break them down by month! I consider June to be the middle of the year and can either be a beginning or an end to one half of the year. Keeping this in mind, the first half of the year is from January 18th to June 30th.

To start off this year, I am focusing on completing 2015 goals. I failed to complete pretty much everything last year. Japanese slipped through my fingers again. Kelly’s Journey, while touched upon, was barely worked on, and my website…well, I tried, but barely did anything.

NOT ANYMORE!

In addition to the lovely on-going trio of Japanese-Kelly’s Journey-Website, I am also injecting some pretty important goals for the long run: introducing my original characters. Starting with the characters I’m bringing to conventions.

Let’s do this shizniiit!

Achievable? I think so! I believe in me! COME ON THIS YEAR, WE ARE GOING TO DO AMAZING!

Goals from July to December

I’ll actually be taking a look back at this in July to make sure this is still what I would like to do. While I’m going to do to the goals above in the order as I present (primarily because they ARE from last year except for the short comics), these ones are absolutely subject to change. I’m sure I’ll let you guys know.

The first half of the year, as you can see, is clearly focused on completing some earlier goals. However, for the second half of this year, I want some new goals, dang it! I’m sick of the goals above at this point. It’d be one thing if I was doing different sections of them, but I feel like I’ve been stuck on the same sections for two years! It is time for a change!

I have a feeling these will change a bit when it comes to this second half of the year. I hope whatever happens, it will continue to be BRIGHT! Let’s make it the best, shall we?

THIS YEAR IS GOING TO BE GREAT. No, it IS great!

I’m personally just paving the way for 2017. It’s going to be a big year for me. I’m making sure it’s a big year for me in the most successful way. However, that all depends on this year. I’m going up and I shall not stop! I shall keep on going.

In the coming months, I may reveal further details of above. In short though, it consists of brainstorming my original stories, both long and short, as well as getting some dang comics done. The 2015 goals are also getting completed in the start of this dang year. SO GET READY, PEOPLE!!!

Please keep with me and thank you so much for your support so far! I’m looking forward to the remainder of this year.
