Hello everybody! How are you doing today? Did you see my last post? If not, go read it! Or not. It’s entirely up to you.
If you already watched the video above and/or read the blog post, you know that I drew Deathena on a Skull. I posted a speed paint version of the process on YouTube. Please keep in mind it originally took me over an hour to do the image.
This was the final result:
When I started doing this image, the final result about is more or less what I envisioned. However, when I was doing the picture and trying to come up with a wallpaper version — something I originally wanted to release — I came up with a more detailed background. While that version still exists in my files, I ended up reverting to my original idea: Deathena on a skull with a white backdrop except for a bit of the ground the stone was on.
Now it was perfect.
I’ll admit, when I first finished the image, I wasn’t super happy with it, but the more time I spend with it, I really appreciate it. I really enjoy her pose, especially her face.
For those wondering why I even wanted to draw something like this in the first place, the answer is simple: it’s close to Halloween and there’s skull decorations where I go for a couple times a week for moolah. It inspired me to draw Deathena since she is the Death Fairy and enjoys stuff like that.
I know that sounds morbid, but trust me. She’s a dark character who is good!
Talk to you guys later!
