Back in 2011, I was planning on having a part of my website that featured all my social networking pages, which I’m still planning to do. The image for the layout featured myself on my phone, which was a parody of a Blackberry, since that was the phone I had at the time.

The picture is pretty simple. Okay, sure, the hands are messed up, but can you really blame me? I had never drawn someone holding a phone before then! I think I did use a reference image of myself, but I could be wrong about that.

Then, two years later, I actually got around to colouring it. The lineart had been done in Corel Painter 11 and when I opened it in Clip Studio Paint to help me colour, I changed the lines to be more pixelated…which is how it stayed. The picture looks okay in colour, but the lines make it hideous. I think the odd looking hands look worse in colour.

I pretty much just used this image as “colouring practice” which came out horrible. It’s not really colouring practice though. It’s more like I promised myself in 2011 that I would colour this and so that’s what I did. I can’t tell if that’s a bad thing or not…
